Venue #21: Algonquin Arts Theatre!

Did everyone have a great President's Day Weekend? We hope you had as much fun as us, as we gear up to start featuring new venues outside of NYC!

With that said, we're going to change up things a little bit. Instead of featuring just one particular state for the upcoming featured venues, we're going to shuffle them up and show some more variety. So for the next few weeks, be prepared to learn more about venues in the NJ/Philly/NY State area! (And yes, there are a lot of them.)

So let's kick it off this week by taking it to the Jersey Shore! If the boys play during the summer, why not have a venue that's conveniently close to the beach (as well as public transportation) and make a vacation out of it all? Yes, I'm talking about the Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan, NJ!

Remember, if you like a venue or have any questions/comments for us, please don't hesitate to contact us at BringBDtoEC@gmail.com and let us know what you think! (Please let us know, we want the boys here just as much as you do!)

Enjoy the rest of the holiday!

History:

Algonquin Arts, a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, was founded in 1991 to provide cultural enrichment for residents of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. This mission is accomplished by presenting a wide range of arts programming, including dramatic and musical theatre, dance, musical concerts and film representing a diversity of style and cultural influence, film and mixed media presentations.

These presentations are offered to the public in the setting of the 540-seat Algonquin Arts Theatre located in Manasquan, New Jersey, which reopened to the public in 1994 following an extensive renovation.

Since the founding of Algonquin Arts and the reopening of The Algonquin Arts Theatre, over 500,000 Shore residents have experienced a broad spectrum of the performing, visual and media arts without paying high fees or enduring lengthy travel. Area residents have gained access to a list of renowned touring and professional theatre companies including, among others: The Moscow Classical Ballet, The Actor's Studio of New York, Midori, The David Dorfman Dance Company, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, TheatreWorksUSA, ArtsPower and Two River Theatre Company. Algonquin Arts has also hosted acclaimed local performance companies including the Dunbar Repertory Company and the New Jersey Youth Theatre (formerly the Westfield Young Artists Cooperative Theatre).

In addition of offering unique cultural experiences for adults through its EVENINGS SERIES and its ORCHESTRA SERIES with The Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea, Algonquin Arts strives to enhance the educational experiences of area students. The diverse performances and artist-lead workshops offered as part of the annual EDUCATION SERIES are designed to assist educators in meeting New Jersey's core curriculum standards. The expanding MORNING MUSIC program (formerly Stage One), offered as a free or reduced-fee monthly music series, presents a forum for the finest musicians to present an arts-education performance for an audience uniquely combining school-age children and senior citizens.
